Biceps brachii · Humerus
2How do I find it on my body?
- With the arm by your side, put a finger on the front end of the armpit fold (anterior axillary fold).
- Find the level of the elbow crease, where Chize (LU5) lies.
- Divide the distance into thirds and take the upper mark.
- At that height, feel the outer edge of the biceps and press the soft tissue just outside it.
- anterior axillary fold
- The fold at the front of the armpit with the arm at the side, made by the lower edge of pectoralis major. Its top end is a starting mark for measuring upper-arm points.
- biceps brachii
- The 'biceps' at the front of the upper arm; its two heads join on the radius to bend the elbow and turn the palm up. Bend the arm and you feel its thick tendon in the crook of the elbow.
3Before you press
- Avoid broken or swollen skin and press only to a comfortable level.
- Acupressure is not a substitute for medical care.
